DJ Will Burns Biog

Resident DJ & creator of Dirty Retro, aka Will Burns may look like any other DJ with headphones on but in fact he’s a talented producer and bar/nightclub owner, at the age of 26 he has big plans for the future. His up tempo mix of house, 80’s & 90’s classics together with furious funk has Seen Dirty Retro’s popularity rise as a favorite all round party DJ with students, clubbers & music lovers.

Will Burns began Djing & promoting music back in 1997. His eclectic, diverse freestyle selection of music ranges from old skool classics, 80’s, funk, house & electro.

A prolific DJ who has played all over the world from Europe to Asia, Australia to America he continues to create & define what the future holds for dance floors, armed with his knowledge & wealth of music delivering & performing to a large audience comes naturally.

Will Burns started his career playing at clubs & bars in London’s West end. “When I first started I would run my own nights & DJ absolutely everywhere for no money! It was all about the experience & getting to play quality tunes on good sound systems”.

“I eventually started getting paid & then started DJing at bigger clubs.”

Promotions include Ministry of sound, Carwash at Aquarium, The Gallery at Turnmills, Type At the cross, schooldisco.com where he would play his own party mix of 80’s funk & classics with a cutting edge.

After spending 3 years studying music & radio production at University, Will did some work for Ministry of sound radio & BBC Radio where he made friends with some of the biggest names in dance music. Will started presenting his own classics dance show on London’s point blank FM as well as doing monthly guest mixes for other radio networks. From his experience & networks Will set up his own DJ Entertainment agency & event promotions company Top Music Agent where he would organise club & music events in the UK & abroad.

In 2004 Will set up his new club brand Dirty Retro a mix of club retro classics from the 80’s & 90’s mixed together with House & Electro. Will spent 2 years travelling around the world as a DJ representing Dirty Retro at Some of the biggest clubs in Australia, Asia & America. Clubs include Mansion & Bed In Miami, Attica in Singapore, Q Bar Melbourne, Q Bar Bangkok, Cargo Sydney, Club Hong Kong, Club Eden Ibiza, Mynt Bar Shanghai, Velour’s Tokyo, Zinc Dubai. His Fascination & passion for all genres of music is heard in his own music production & dj sets.
