2006 USA Winter Tour Diary

Miami

I arrived in Miami after an 8 hour flight it was straight to the club to DJ at Ink on Washington aver. a new south beach club. I got there totally exhausted, the guy who booked me Dmitri asked if I would had out some passes. So I took a walk down Lincoln ave. everywhere was dead, I went back to the club at 12am & played for an hour. The club shut at 1 with no one there! I was pissed off but also quite glad to get back to my hotel & get some rest. I was more concerned about getting paid. This ended up being a problem. The management tried to avoid paying me even though we had an agreement. (Still waiting to be paid!!!!!!!!!!)

I spent 3 nights in Miami & met up with my friend from Paris Amira. It was good to be back in Miami, I now regard as my second home. Tues night we went to Snatch a trendy night spot for the glamorous & chic Miami locals. Yannick an associate of mine was holding his night there. lot of hot girls, champagne, & stuck up attitudes. We met up with a business tycoon millionaire New Yorker Brian who invited us back to his plush apartment on Collins that over looked the beach. Didn’t get much sleep that night but a good evening & a good guy to meet.

Orlando

Orlando was my next stop. I enjoy my visits to Orlando; it’s a very new city with a lot going on. I went to a few venues mainly the I bar that played rock & indie music, it was packed. Next day it was off to Las Vegas

Viva Las Vegas

My first time to Vegas so I was very excited. The 4.5 hour flight was not too bad & I managed to get an hour sleep. On arrival at Vegas airport it was 10.45pm so I was in a hurry to get to my hotel & then hit the clubs. The airport was a right mare.  There were people everywhere and I couldn’t find where my luggage was. The airport has slot machines everywhere!! I knew I was in Vegas.
I get to my hotel end up sleeping for a few hours. I pull myself out of bed & make my way to empire ballroom the club that opens after hours I was invited by a big Vegas club owner called Gino, he hooked me up entry. The club is a nice old theatre style lay out with high ceilings & lots of space. Music was quite deep house. A very popular club. I recommend you check it out. The next day’s 4 days in Vegas were crazy to say the least. It was sat night, a big night head of me. I went to the Ghost bar which is on the 54th floor of the palms hotel. What a bar this is. A view over the whole strip & the bright city lights are a beautiful sight. I met a group of English lads at this bar who were on a 4 day binge. We witnessed something quite scary. At the ghost bar they have a glass floor which lets you see the street below which is 54 floors, it’s a long way down!! Anyway one of the lads dropped a bottle on the glass & it smashed & shattered. If the glass completely broke & someone fell down, then there would be serious compensation.

After my experience at the ghost bar I made my way to Tao a posh club at the Venetian. Jay Z was performing there, so this was a hot ticket. I had been put in contact with some Vegas player called marc kmetz an ex NFL player. His buddy Chris arranged for me to get in. Once in the club it was a sweat box packed to the rafters. we had about a 3 hour wait until Jay z  actually arrived to perform, once he got there, the whole club was buzzing with energy. I squeezed my drunken self to the very front where I was rubbing shoulders with the VIPS which included Paris Hilton & James Blunt who was also on tour in Vegas. The night was memorable for a number of reasons. A spectacular club. Make sure you visit Tao.

Sunday night I went to a club called Body English which is located at the hard rock cafe. This was another popular night. The door staffs were very arrogant & would only let females in. I waited for about 35mins before I actually got in with a filming crew who were filming some American reality TV show, they even got me on the film. We walked straight in VIP so I didn’t have to pay. Once in the club. It was packed again like Tao, the crowd were very glamorous & the only people that really get the attention at these clubs are the big spenders who have the tables. Luckily I bumped in to the group of lads from England who had a table & a lot of ladies around them. If you have the drinks on ice the women will follow, it’s the way it wo9rks. I got friendly with some lap dancer chic called Remy who was constantly jumping on me, I did dent complain.

My last night in Vegas I went to Jet at the Mirage. This is Vegas big house club that regularly books big name DJs. I got myself free entry as I spoke to the friendly girl on the door who deals with events & DJ bookings. This club is actually smaller then I was expecting, but a great lay out with 3 different rooms & a killer sound system. I spent my time in the r&b hip hop room as I met with some girl whose nick name was j lo, she had an amazing body but her face let her down, still after a few drinks does it matter. Jet was a good club I met up with my NFL player friend, & we necked a few shots at the bar before he got in a fight & had to be dragged out by 8 security. It was eventful.

My time in Vegas was enjoyable. I didn’t get hours sleep literally. I got myself in to every club for free didn’t have to wait in line. That’s the way you need to do it. I think if you are planning to go to Vegas you need to be in a big group with a big wod of cash & healthy bank balance. It doesn’t come cheap but it’s worth the money.

LA

Next day I had to contend with a drive across the Nevada desert to LA. This journey is supposed to take 4 hours. It took me 6 hours due to traffic on the i15 south. I got to LA around about 7 checked in to my hotel in the Hollywood hills. I tried to get some sleep before my night at the beauty bar. This didn’t happen for some reason I can never sleep a few hours before a gig. I get myself freshened up & make my way to the Beauty bar. I met up with a very cool DJ called Dia who runs lots of nights throughout LA. I played for about an hour & a half old 80's tunes & some rock & indie. Had a good time there & it was quite relaxed compared to my last 4 nights of mayhem in Sin City? My final day & night in LA. I took a tour around the hollywood beverly hills houses of the rich & famous. Sad i know but I was bored & wanted to see my future house. It was crazy seeing how many famous people live in a small area. The real estate in Hollywood is a dream but you need to be worth at least $10 million to even have a sniff at buying a property.

After my nose around the homes of the rich & famous I went to virgin megastore where Jay Z the main attraction who seems to be everywhere I go. He was signing copies of his new album, so I got a signed copy & then took a stroll down Hollywood blvd. My final night in LA I Went to an indie alternative dance club night called Moscow. Which was for over 18’s? I get in to the club its packed full of weirdo’s with eye liner. They were young & rude arrogant. I felt like having a fight it was that bad. I felt un easy & looked totally out of place. There were lesbian’s gay’s, transsexuals, rockers; everyone was totally different but fucking weird or what. I guess this is the real LA fucked up kids on coke who all think they are rock stars. It’s a club I will never forget for having so many bizarre looking people. I had a few drinks then left in a hurry!!!!

Next day it was back to London on another Virgin Flight.
